In the true spirit of holiday generosity, Mr. Lee McWhirter went above and beyond as a good neighbor on Glass Street, helping to make Christmas bright and cheerful for dozens of kids and their families. Lee collected 8 bikes of various sizes to pass out on Christmas Eve at Progress Barber Shop.

Lee hosted 30 kids from the surrounding Glass Farms Area mostly residing along the Glass St./Awtry block. Along with the bikes over 30 gifts which included jewelry sets, footballs, basketballs, toy cars, bow and arrows, dolls, etc.
The kids were super excited about the gathering, and had a little time to build up anticipation because most of them learned about it the day before. On Christmas Eve they whisked eagerly down the Awtry hill. Parents and grandparents also came to support their children as they put there names in a bucket for the bike drawing.
The community certainly expressed gratitude for Lee’s heartfelt leadership and giving spirit. His shop has been a fixture on Glass Street, and Lee often expresses his commitment to actively improving life for his friends and neighbors.
