Glass Street LIVE Block Party

On April 21st, Glass Street LIVE will take place as part of the 10-day citywide celebration called HATCH CHA(History, Arts, Technology, Culture, and Happenings). Glass Street LIVE is a block party designed to bring life back to the historic Glass Street in East Chattanooga. Glass House Collective has partnered with East Chattanooga Improvement to engage residents, business owners, and supporters of East Chattanooga in organizing a full day of activities and entertainment.

We will kick-off the day at Hardy Elementary at 10:00 am with the “Touch-A-Truck” event featuring our city’s biggest trucks. Glass Street LIVE will then attract neighbors and visitors to the heart of the historic Glass Street- the Glass Street and North Chamberlain intersection.
Other initial activities include:

A Civil War Walking Tour with local historian Jim Ogden; Live music featuring DJ Phillip Allen; Inflatable bounce houses for kids at Community of Christ; Screen print your own Glass Street LIVE t-shirt with Glass House Collective; Craft activity around lego competition with Habitat Humanity and Paint Your Own BirdHouse with CNE; Youth basketball tournament with East Chattanooga Parks & Rec; Mobile garden demonstration and planting activities with Fair Share; Historic train rides with the TN Valley Railroad Museum and more…

Included in a growing list of supporters is Glass House Collective, East Chattanooga Improvement, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, Girls INC., Hope for the Inner City, Fair Share, The Chattanooga Health Department, TN Valley Railroad Museum, The City of Chattanooga, Hardy Elementary School, Community of Christ, and East Chattanooga Neighborhood Associations.
