“Rhythm of Life” is the poetic vision of the Through Glass Documentary. The poem by Velvet Poetry was created from interviews from 23 of the families interviewed and photographed by Reed Schick Photography and @davygeee. All of the individual lines created one beautiful poem that she shares in the video (full poem can be read on the website). Summer Dregs mixed the audio from all the raw interviews (birds chipping, basketballs dribbling, trains, dirt bikes, front porch acapella by 2 Deep Within) into the soundtrack for this video. This collaboration among neighbors and artists created a beautiful ‘sound poem’ about our community during COVID-19. This community driven and artist-led project started as Pandemic Portraits and quickly became a multi-media time capsule. Big thanks to the incredibly talented team of artists and neighbors.
