National Night Out

On October 7, Glass House Collective participated in the annual National Night Out celebration at Avondale YFD Center in East Chattanooga.National Night Out is an annual gathering of communities throughout nation to promote crime reduction to create safer communities.

During the assembly, the Lt. Chamberlin, James Moreland, Buff Rainey, Paula from Economic and Community Development spoke to the effort the local government is putting forth to garner trust and improved services to East Chattanooga.

After the program, the a local Choir performed an up-beat musical ensemble while everyone enjoyed their food by local venders.  Some favorites were the hotdogs provided by neighborhood associations in the area and donuts by Monkey Town Donut Company.

The City of Chattanooga’s economic and community development office also conducted a needs assessment with local community members in order to rank economic, social service, housing, and infrastructure needs within the East Chattanooga area for the 2015-2019 consolidated plan .  This data will be used to further community and economic development in Chattanooga as a whole.IMG_0130
