Sausage Fest by the Good Neighbor Network

The Good Neighbor Network decided on three focus areas to get to work on. They chose safety, beautification and community inclusion. The group collectively went to work on their first community inclusive kick-off coined ‘Sausage Fest’.  Two of our involved neighbors came up with the idea to celebrate Fall by hosting a cook-out in the community space. They pulled in the Good Neighbor Network to help them with grilling sausages, hot dogs, and brats –hence the name “sausage fest”.

This event took place in the community space at the corner of N. Chamberlain and Glass St. Kids arts and crafts projects were provided by residents. Approximately 30-40 people attended from the community. We had a great time and it was a true community gathering. Thank you to all of the Good Neighbor Network folks for organizing and our neighbors for joining us. Hopefully, this event will happen every year. Fingers crossed.
